We are passionate about building genuine relationships, embracing wonder, and prioritizing people over appearances or rigid traditions.

Since opening its doors in 1929, River of Life has stood as a testament to God’s faithfulness. Born out of a powerful revival during the Great Depression, the congregation raised funds by growing and selling cotton, and on Christmas Eve 1929, families cleared the church site together—laying both a physical and spiritual foundation built on unity and prayer.

Over the years, the church has faced challenges—including fires that destroyed its first two buildings—but through it all, the River family continued to rebuild, worship, and serve with unwavering faith. After the fire in Munford, the Lord provided an incredible new building and a fresh start in Millington, Tennessee—beyond anything we could have expected or prayed for. God blessed us with this property to further His Kingdom and bring healing and freedom to many in our community and surrounding areas.

Today, under the leadership of Pastors Greg and Bonnie Temke, River of Life continues to thrive as “A Place of Healing & Freedom,” dedicated to bringing restoration to the spirit, soul, and body through the Word, worship, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are a church for all generations and cultures—committed to prayer, outreach, discipleship, and community—where everyone can find belonging and purpose in Christ.
